Christmas approaches...

The weather has definitely taken a turn for the worse of late so perhaps you need a little something to warm the soul and get you in the mood for the festive season! What could be better than a rousing performance by the City of Wolverhampton Choir?

This year we will be performing at Springdale Methodist Church on the Warstones Road in Penn on the 20th of December at 7.30pm. The concert is entitled Christmas through the ages and in a break from our normal Christmas events we start with Gregorian Chant. The evening is based on a central theme surrounding the birth of a boy and will progress from chant through a range of styles that will bring in Handel, Schubert, Mozart, Holst, Britten and the premiere of a new piece written especially for the choir this year by local composer Ed Denham. There will of course be some familiar carols such as Mendelssohn's Hark the Herald to send every one home in the perfect frame of mind.

We look forward to seeing you and wishing you a very happy Christmas.
